Like the rest of the world, we at WITS had to adapt, adjust, and make some unexpected changes in 2020. We thank you all again for your patience and understanding while we navigated through this ever-changing environment and pivoted to the 2020 WITS Virtual Summit.

While we were looking forward to holding WITS in person in 2021, things are still uncertain and we don’t want our attendees to miss out on the WITS experience or risk having to cancel/postpone any live events. We have decided to continue with the virtual summit format for 2021.

In addition to holding Virtual Summits in the Spring and the Fall of 2021, beginning in November 2020, we are introducing a new monthly virtual education and networking series – WITS Connect. Watch the WITS newsletter for more details and scheduling information.

AND, we have one more exciting event planned for December 2021 – WITS 10th Anniversary Celebration! Stay tuned for more on our fascinating plans to celebrate 10 years of educating, inspiring, and connecting women in tech.

Before we give you the information on the WITS 2021 Call for Speaking Proposals, we have one more announcement. To increase diversity in tech and to support those who are underrepresented in the tech industry, we  have created the WITS Ticket Assistance Program. Watch the WITS newsletter for more information on this program launching later this year.

Now that you have the details of the WITS 2021 schedule, we are proud to announce the WITS 2021 Call for Speaking Proposals is Now Open!   (PLEASE NOTE THE 2021 CALL FOR SPEAKING PROPOSALS CLOSED ON OCTOBER 15TH)

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to share your experience and expertise with other women in tech at the Virtual Summits or monthly Connect events in 2021.

We are looking for volunteers to deliver a solo talk, participate on a panel or lead a workshop that falls into one of the following agenda tracks:

Trends in Technology Track –

The Trends in Technology track provides audience members an opportunity to learn more about a specific technology topic. These sessions should focus on some of the new things happening in and with technology. Attendees should come away from these sessions with an understanding of these trends and their applicability.

Hands-on Workshops –

The hands-on workshops provide audience members with practical experience in a given topic. Workshops should be exercise and/or project based and should provide either an elementary overview or a deep-dive into a particular technology topic. Speakers are encouraged to submit either programming workshop topics or workshops that demonstrate that working in tech is programming and more.

Innovate Yourself Track –

The Innovate Yourself track at the Women in Tech Summit provides audience members an opportunity to develop skills and learn from the experience and expertise of other women working in tech. Innovate Yourself sessions focus on topics useful for career growth on both the technical and business sides of technology.

Additional details on how to submit a proposal and the selection process are available here.

WITS is also accepting select sponsors for the 2021 WITS Virtual summits and the WITS Connect series.
