Week Two of the WITS Virtual Summit opened with Pooja Malpani, Head of Engineering at Bloomberg Media talking about how to Build an Organization and a Culture for Developer Innovation.
Ashley Stove, Web and Software Developer at Aptera Software Inc. talked about Sustainable Accessibility and how to integrate accessibility checks into your CI/CD pipeline.
Attendees learned the Basics of Setting up a Drupal Website from Monica Flores, Technical Project Manager at Lullabot.
Fangda Wang, Software Engineer at Indeed, joined us from Tokyo to talk about pair programming in To Pair or Not to Pair.
Shannon Schriver, who works in Security Assurance at Susquehanna International Group (SIG) shared cybersecurity insights in the session, Phishing – Threats, Trends, and Tactics.
Wrapping up Tuesday’s programming was Halleh Abedi, Principal/Creative Director at Five Acres Agency, talked about user experience in UX is Sexy: How intelligent UX keeps users (and clients) coming back for more.
Starting off Thursday was Audrey Troutt, Director, Mobile Engineering at Comcast sharing her Lessons Learned going from Tech Lead to Manager to Director in a session titled Grow Others to Grow Yourself.
Bobbie Carlton, Founder of Innovation Women and Carlton PR and Marketing, shared the secrets of Building your Brand by Creating your Signature Talk.
Attendees learned how to Document Yourself and how to create a framework for career advancement from Michelle Brenner, Senior Software Engineer at Netflix.
Kate Green, a Senior Software Engineer, shared the things she has learned in the Secrets of Being a Great Software Engineer.
Your (non) technical skills matter: Making the case for the human side of tech was explained by Whitney Brown, Practice Lead, Change +Adoption at Cloudbakers.
Genia Wilbourn, Senior Vice President – Global Network Operations & Assurance at Verizon held an insightful and honest conversation about Crisis Leadership: Driving Positive Change & Growth During Uncertain Times.
Week Two wrapped up with some enlightening and fun discussions during the networking session in Whova. We know that not everyone likes to network in the same way so we provided three different types of networking on different platforms across the full summit.
